Addison | Llewellyn F. "Bud" Herrington, 86, of Front St. Addison, passed away at home on Monday, October 21, 2013. Born in Addison on September 7, 1927, Bud was the son of the late Forest and Thelma Relyea Herrington. He attended Addison Schools and graduated from Addison High School. He entered the US Navy and served his country during World War II. On February 14, 1948 he married the former Jacqueline White. Jackie survives. Bud began a long career at the Ingersoll Rand Co. in Painted Post, where he retired as a foreman in the air power division. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Addison, Powder Creek, Wyoming American Legion Post, Addison Eagles Aerie and a life member of the Corning Moose Lodge. Bud took great pleasure in decorating his yard for any and all occasions. Residents looked forward to seeing his gazebo decorations change from holiday to holiday. Bud was at one time very involved with fire department Drum and Bugle corps. He was the drum major of the Wells Hose Company Drum and Bugle Corps in Addison, a group that went on to win a state fireman's championship in 1951. He had also been the director of the Lawrenceville Fireman's Auxiliary Drill Team. Besides his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Cook. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Jackie Herrington at home, his son and daughter in law, Brian and Linda Herrington of Addison, his daughter, Cindy Luedeman of Corning, his son in law, Frank Cook of Addison, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 30 from 1 to 3 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY, with a celebration of Bud's life following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Addison Rural Cemetery, c/o Gene Wade, 2 Wall St. Addison, NY 14801.
