Well, there were a lot of significant women, but they are uulsaly not very well known. Society here is still quite patriarchal and the history of the women's movement doesn't get as much attention as it would deserve. Two women who come to mind are Blanka Teleki and Kle1ra Lef6vey they were pioneers of women's education in the first half of the 19th century, and they also took part in the 1848 revolution against Austria for which they were imprisoned. Blanka Teleki was also a painter and a sculptor, but unfortunately not too many of her works are known today. Maybe I will try to do some research and write a post about her later.Another interesting person was Vilma Hugonnai, the first Hungarian female doctor. She studied medicine in Zurich from 1872 she was a countess, but her family did not support her studies, so she had to put up with poverty until she graduated. When she returned home, she was not allowed to practice as a doctor because the state didn't recognize her degree, so she worked as a midwife and fought for women's right to study all her life. She was allowed to work as a doctor in 1897.There were also suffragettes in Hungary at the beginning of the 20th century.The most prominent of them was Rf3zsa Be9dy-Schwimmer.
