HORNELL: Mary M. Ross, 94, formerly of Edgeview Estates and Rochester, passed away Friday (Dec. 23, 2011) at McAuley Manor where she had resided since 2006. Mary was born February 26, 1917 in Rochester, to James and Mary (Hertal) McIntosh. On February 7, 1964 in Rochester, she married Charles Ross who predeceased her in May of 1971. She was also predeceased by daughter-in-law Cindy Ross, two grand daughters: April Carr and Annette Ross, as well as her eight siblings. Mary had worked as a machinist for the Burns-O-Matic Company in Rochester for 35 years retiring in 1980. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed and cherished her time with her family and friends. Mary also was an avid card player. Survivors include her son Tony (Cathy) Ross of Hornell, three grand children: Charles (Stacy) Ross of Bolivar, T.J. (Lena) Ross of Canisteo and Peter (Jennifer) Ross of Hornell.14 great grand children and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from11:00 AM to1:00 PM Wed. at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo where funeral and committal services will take place immediately follow calling hrs. at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Holy Seplecher Cemetery in Roschester. Memorial contributions in Mary Ross's name may be made to the McAuley Manor Activities Center, 1 Bethesda Drive, North Hornell, N.Y. 14843.
