Obituary of Richard Frederick Hoaglin

Richard Frederick Hoaglin, 83, of 318 Delaware Ave. Painted Post, died on Friday, November 22, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born in Corning on April 5, 1930, the son of John Richard and Sarah E. Austin Hoaglin. Over the years of his working career, some of the places employed include Flickengers, Dresser Rand, the Corning Building Company and Woodhull Cemetery. He was best known for his years with Elmira Rug and Cutlers Carpet. Dick was predeceased by his parents, his brother Donald and 3 of his sons, Robert, John and Frederick Hoaglin. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ruth (Wheaton) Hoaglin, his children, Kay Marvin, Susan (LaVern) VanDusen, Nancy (Walter Tustin) Blank, David (Gail) Hoaglin, Christopher (Leann Meinstereifel) Hoaglin, James (Adrianne) Hoaglin, Sarah Jo Evans and Douglas Hoaglin. Also surviving are 32 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson plus an uncle and 3 nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 4 PM at the Woodhull Cemetery Chapel, Woodhull, NY. with Rev Lonny DeWalt officiating. Burial will follow in Woodhull Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.
