Elkland, Pa. | Virginia Morseman, 83, of North Buffalo St. Elkland, Pa., passed away on Thursday, December 26 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira following a brief illness. Born in the Town of Tuscarora, NY on May 19, 1930, Virginia was the daughter of Spencer and Alena Baker Mather. She retired from Founders Pavilion in Corning after working there many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Virginia was a very active member of the Lawrenceville Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and cherished time with her grandchildren, whom she adored. Surviving is her daughter and son in law, Tina and Ivan Wheeler of Elkland, her son and daughter in law, Alan and Dianna Brown of Corning, her grandchildren, Taylor Brown, Emma Brown, Jonathan Wheeler, Raychelle Wheeler, Rebekah Wheeler and Katelyn Wheeler, her dear sisters in law, Frances Mather and Jane Mather, along with many nieces and nephews. Virginia was predeceased by her brothers, Burnell, Weldon, Lyle, Dexter, Cecil, Charles and Douglas Mather and her sisters, Mapelyn Lieverse and Odetta Bennett. Friends may call on Sunday, December 29 from noon to 2 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow there at 2 PM with Rev. Kurt Heisey officiating. Burial will be made in Elk Creek Cemetery, Borden, NY.
