Obituary of Vivian L. Farranti

Vivian L. Farranti, 90, of County Route 126, Troupsburg, entered into rest on Friday, January 10, 2014 at home. Vivian was born in Hornell, NY on December 21, 1923, the daughter of Roland and Gladys Page Minard. She was raised in Troupsburg and was a 1940 graduate of Troupsburg Central School. On February 13, 1948, Vivian married Michael W. Farranti. Mike preceded her in death on November 16, 1987. Vivian retired from Corning Inc. where she had been employed as an inspector and silk screener. She had been a long time member of the Troupsburg Fireman's Auxiliary and the Troupsburg Grange. Besides her husband, Vivian was predeceased by her sister, Anna M. Payne and her brother, Roland H. Minard. She is survived by nieces and nephews, June (Gary) Button of Jasper, Bonnie (Michael) Davis of Canisteo, Pat (Gary) Hadsell of Canisteo, Larry Payne of Toccoa, GA, Barry (Cindy) Payne of Canisteo and Louis Payne of Canisteo as well as several great nieces and nephews and her loving caregivers. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 14 from 12 noon to 2 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Vivian's funeral and committal services will follow there at 2 PM with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Troupsburg.
