Obituary of Leslie L. Woughter

Leslie L. Woughter, 58, of County Route 100, Addison, passed away very suddenly on Friday, January 24, 2014 in the Emergency Department at Corning Hospital. Les was born on December 4, 1955 in Corning, NY. He attended Addison schools. In 1977 he entered the US Marine Corps. where he served a four year hitch. Upon discharge from the Marines, he enlisted in the US Navy and served sixteen more years where he was a radio and communication man. Upon retirement from the military, Les worked for several years in the catering business including several years with Corning Community College Food Service. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed daily walks and cycling. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Henry Woughter and his brother, Bud Woughter. Surviving are his sisters, Grace Frankel, Alice Dean and Juanita Woughter, all of Painted Post and Wanda Woughter of Bath, his brothers, Charles Woughter (Melissa Learn) of Addison and Donald Woughter of Hornell, his foster parents who raised him, John and Norma Crane of Addison, along with many nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering and a time of remembrance held on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 from 1 to 4 PM at the South Corning Fire Department, Caton Road, South Corning. Military honors will be accorded there at 2:00 PM. Service: Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 1 to 4 PM Celebration of Life South Corning Fire Department Caton Road South Corning, NY
