Carolyn D. Button, 59, of County Route 86, Addison (Town of Tuscarora), died very suddenly on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Corning Hospital. Born in Osceola, Pa. on June 7, 1954, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Menzo and Laura Cook Gee. She was a 1973 graduate of Addison Central School as well as a graduate of BOCES with certification as an LPN. Carolyn and Larry Button were married on July 15, 1973 at the Tuscarora Baptist Church. Larry survives. She had worked for several years in nursing at Corning Hospital and later in private home health care. Carolyn became involved with the operation of the Country Cream restaurant in Addison where she became the owner, operating the business for the last 17 years. In younger years, she was an active bowler and softball player. Carolyn was also a long time member of the Addison Eagles Aerie 3904. A very proud Mom and Grandma, Carolyn was always the family caregiver and the glue that kept her family so close knit with her unconditional love and support for all. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Larry Button of Addison, her daughters and son in law, Wanda Buck of Bradford, Jennifer and Doug Mong of Painted Post, Natasha Blanchard of Addison and Brandy Blanchard of Addison, her grandchildren, Shad (Sarah) Buck, Alex Mong, Ethan Mong, Diane Granger and Logan Granger, her brothers and sisters, Robert (Peg) Gee of Osceola, Pa., Kevin (Edna) Gee of Addison, Carolyn's twin sister, Karen Walker of Slaughters, KY, Shirley Kibbe of Dundee, Joyce Cornell of Penn Yan, Marcia (Chip) Gardner of Penn Yan and Glenda Dutcher of Bath, her half sister, Elizabeth Drake of Rochester and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Wayne Gee, Ronald Gee and Gary Gee, her sisters, Darlene Cornish and Jean Soltys, half brothers, Mark Gee and Wilbur Gee and half sister, Marie Hibbard. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 15 from 2-4 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Carolyn's funeral and committal services will follow at 4 PM with Rev. Scott Towner officiating. Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery. Service: Saturday, February 15, 2014 4:00 PM H.P.
