Alan M. Miller, 57, of Cty. Rte. 119, Cameron, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo. Al was born in Providence, Rhode Island on May 27, 1956, the son of Gerald J. and Ruth De Vaudreuil Miller Jr. He was raised in Rhode Island. A US Air Force veteran, Al served from 1973 to 1975. He was employed by his father's business in Rhode Island, working as an iron worker and welder. While living in Rhode Island, Al became a certified diver and volunteered in the local rescue squad there. He followed his mother to Cameron where he has made his home for over 30 years. He worked as a self employed carpenter, a trade which he loved and was very gifted in. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, boating and riding 4 wheelers. He also loved a good round of golf. Al is survived by his longtime companion, Claranne Mills of Cameron, his son, Scott (Ane') Miller of Warwick, RI, his mother, Ruth Miller of Cameron, his father, Gerald Miller Jr. of Rhode Island, 3 grandchildren, his sisters, Joanne LaFond and Peggy Jaswell, both of Rhode Island.and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Miller and his brother, Gerald Miller. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 7 at 1 PM at the Bath VA Medical Center Chapel with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Bath National Cemetery. Service: Friday, March 7, 2014 1:00 PM Bath VA Medical Center Chapel Bath, NY
