Addison, NY | Frances Mather, 92, of Old State Road, Addison, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. Frances was born in the Town of Tuscarora on June 11, 1921, the daughter of Lee and Hazel Swan Rogers. She attended Addison Rural Schools. On April 6, 1940, Frances married Lyle Mather. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1993. She was also predeceased by her infant daughter, Joyce Mather, her brother, Clyde Rogers and her sisters, Clarabelle Benjamin, Leah VanZile and Isabell Wilson. Frances was a homemaker most of her life but had been employed at one time at the Elkland Dress Factory in Elkland. Surviving are her sons and daughters in law, Terry and Marsha Mather of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Dwight and Patricia Mather of Addison, her grandchildren, Mitchell (Debbie) Mather, Gregory (Sue) Mather, Shannah (Matthew) Butcher, Mandy (Neil) Gavin and Garret Mather (Chrissie Hadlock), 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 8 from 12 noon to 3 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow there at 3 PM with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Burial will be made in Addison Hill Cemetery, Town of Tuscarora. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Frances' name to the Addison Hill Cemetery Assoc. c/o Barb Morseman, 786 Cty. Rte. 85, Addison, NY 14801.
