Addison, NY | Julia A. Noyes, 63, of High St., Addison, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 following a long valiant fight with cancer. Julia was born in Addison on January 14, 1951, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Eckler Cratsley. On June 28, 1969, she married Kenneth R. Noyes. Ken preceded her in death on July 15, 2001. A very ambitious and determined woman, Julia attained an associate's degree at Corning Community College in secretarial science and later, as a working wife and mom, she received a degree as a Registered Nurse from Alfred State College. She worked for 25 years as a nurse at the Bath VA Medical Center as well as helping Ken operate their dairy farm. Following Ken's death she worked full time in the ICU at the VA as well as working in the ICU of Corning Hospital for 10 years. She worked hard and sacrificed to take care of the needs of her large family. An active member of the Rathbone United Methodist Church, she also loved to travel and had made many trips abroad including trips to visit her son in Australia. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Besides her husband Ken, Julia was preceded in death by her sons, Kevin Noyes, Kenny Mott and infant son David and her granddaughters, Charity Baker and Sierra Burgess. Surviving are her children, Becky Noyes (Rodney DuBois) of Cameron, Mike Noyes (Michele Coryea) of Addison, Laura Baker of Kanona, Donald (Soinah) Noyes of Perth, Western Australia, Ray (Valerie) Noyes of Risingville, Angel (David) Burgess of Cameron Mills, David (Georgette) Noyes of Jasper, Jim (Terry) Mott of Gillette, Pa. and Tami (Rexford) Roy of Greece, NY, daughter in law, Helen Mott of Troupsburg, very special friends, Sharon and Ronald Grist of Addison, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers, Frank Dyer, Larry Eckler and Bert (Jennifer) Cratsley, sister, Ida Stickler, sister in law, Sharon Tucker and brother in law, Alan Noyes. Also many nieces and nephews survive. Friends may call on Monday, May 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Julia's funeral services will be conducted there on Tuesday at 11 AM with Pastor Morris Gridley Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery.
