Addison, NY | Michael Cilip Sr., 78, of County Route 119, Addison, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. Mike was born in Corning, NY on October 2, 1935, the son of Michael and Nancy Gajdos Cilip. He married the former Betty J. Jones, who preceded him in death on Feb. 8, 2008. He was a Korean era veteran of the US Army. Mike retired from Corning Inc. where he was a maintenance supervisor in the general machine shop. He was an avid hunter and golfer and he and Betty had enjoyed their winters in Florida together. He loved his children and grandchildren and cherished time spent with them. Mike was a member of the Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church in Addison. Besides his wife Betty, his sisters, Mary Lesh and Anna Dumbaugh and his brother, George Cilip predeceased Mike. Surviving are his sons and daughters in law, Dr. Michael and Shelly Cilip of Horseheads, NY and Scott and Jan Cilip of North Tonawanda, NY, seven grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11 am at the Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church in Addison with Mr. Troy Preston officiating. Burial will follow in Addison Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mike's name may be made to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263.
