MONTGOMERY, PA: Roger L. Stocum, 79, formerly of Weston, N.Y. passed away Thursday (May 29, 2014) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville following a brief illness. Roger was born September 4, 1934 in Canisteo to Elmer and Reba (Hornberg) Stocum. He was a retired Army serviceman and was employed for 34 years at Dresser Rand in Painted Post retiring as a supervisor. Roger was a member of the Weston Presbyterian Church and member and past Fire Chief of the Tyrone Vo. Fire Dept. Survivors include his wife: Shirley L. Stocum, two children David Stocum and Kathleen Berger, one granddaughter and a sister Nancy McMindes. There will be no calling hrs. or services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo. Memorial contributions in Roger Stocum's name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Watsontown, Pa. 17777.
