CANISTEO: Louise E. Howard, 83, of Ste. Rte. 36 passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (June 24, 2014) at St. James Mercy Hospital after a short illness. Louise was born April 24, 1931 in Canisteo to Frank and Delightia (King) Keough. On January 1, 1949 in Osceola, Pa. she married Carleton C. Howard who predeceased her in June of 2005. She was also predeceased by a sister Isabelle Dibble. Louise was a lifelong resident of Canisteo where she was a wife, mother, grandmother and home maker. Survivors include three sons: Rowland "Rocky" (Ella) Howard of Canisteo, William (Jino) Howard of Helotes, TX and Donald Howard of Canisteo, one brother: Oliver (Goldie) Keough of Horseheads, 7 grand children and 3 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There will be no public calling hrs. or service. A private funeral service will be at the convenience of the family at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo. Memorial contributions in Louise Howard's name may be made to the Canisteo Ambulance Fund, c/o Sandy Pierce, 35 Main St. Canisteo, N.Y. 14823.
