Obituary of Gloria S. Delill Hardy

Woodhull, NY | Gloria S. Delill Hardy, 62, of Mill St. Woodhull, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 1, 2014 at the Taylor Health Care Facility in Bath. Born in Corning on June 23, 1952, Gloria was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lea Payne Delill. Raised in Jasper, she was a 1971 graduate of Jasper Central School. Following high school, she attended Alfred State College. On Aug. 4, 1972, she and Kenneth B. Hardy were married in Allegany, NY. Ken preceded her in death on May 31, 1984. Gloria had at one time taught as a substitute at Jasper. She later was associated with Kinship in Hornell, was an Avon representative and then worked several years as the program director at the Jasper Nutrition Center. She loved to crochet and always offered help and support to others in need. Besides her husband, Gloria was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Karlee Watson and her brother, Stanley Delill. She is survived by her longtime companion, William Taft of Woodhull, her sisters, Gwendolyn (Donald) Reisman and Priscilla (Bob) Conklin, all of Jasper, her brothers, Kriss Delill of Woodhull, Phillip (Peg Hanbach) Delill of Phoenix, AZ, Shawn (Lillian Whitesell) Delill of Rexville, NY and Antoine (Tracy Wood) Delill of Hornell, her brother in law, Ted Watson and her sister in law, Brenda Dole, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 3 from 4-5 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Gloria's funeral service will follow at 5 PM with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Gloria and her family appreciate Care First Hospice and thank them for their wonderful care and support during this difficult time.
