Obituary of Richard I. Graham

Richard I. Graham, 74, of 3898 St. Rte. 417, Jasper, passed away early Sunday morning, January 15, 2012, at home. Born in Lindley, NY on Oct. 6, 1937, he was the son of Elmer and Dora Card Graham. Richard worked with his father as a young man operating the family dairy farm in Wellsboro. He later worked as a self employed auto mechanic. He was a great car enthusiast and skilled mechanic. His greatest joys were spending time with his children and grandchildren, all of whom he took great pride in. His family loved his great sense of humor. On July 22, 1956, Richard and the former Betty Bryden were married in Wellsboro. She survives. Besides his wife Betty, Richard is survived by his sons and daughters in law, James and Amanda Graham of Jasper, Mark Graham of Gowanda, Rick and Myra Graham of Jasper and Randy and Debbie Graham of Jasper, his daughters and son in law, Lisa and Richard Baker of Onalaska, TX and Tammy Young of Jasper, 22 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Kathryn Mattison and Ella Welch and his brother, George Graham. Friends may call on Thursday, January 19 from 11 AM to 2 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ellis Grist officiating. Burial will be in Jasper Cemetery.
