Knoxville, Pa. | Jeanette Stewart, 88, of Knoxville, Pa., passed away at home on Saturday, August 30, 2014 with her children by her side. Born in Alfred Station, NY on November 25, 1925, Jeanette was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Batchelor) Allen. She was a graduate of the former Knoxville High School. On February 26, 1946, she and Richard F. Stewart were married in Knoxville. Dick preceded her in death on June 10, 2001. Jeanette was a homemaker who cherished time spent with her family. She was an avid quilter and was widely known for her great quilting abilities. In the past she had spent many hours quilting with other ladies with the same interest. She and Dick enjoyed attending craft shows where she could proudly display and sell her work. Besides her husband Dick, Jeanette was predeceased by her daughter, Julie Conrad, her sister, Dorothy Stevens and her brother, Robert H. Allen. Surviving are her daughters and sons in law, Karen and Chuck Heatwole of Corydon, Indiana and Debra and Timmy Mulhollen of Hornell, NY, her son, Dennis Stewart of Knoxville, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY on Wednesday, September 3 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held there on Thursday at 11 AM with Rev. Eugene Charsky officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susquehanna Health Home Care & Hospice, 24 Walnut St. Wellsboro, Pa. 16901 or Paradise Garden Animal Haven, 598 Kent Hill Road, Woodhull, NY 14898.
