Corning, NY | Sheila P. Rose, 68, of Steuben St. Corning, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Corning Hospital Sheila was born in Woodhull, NY on September 3, 1946, the daughter of the late Elwyn J. and Mary K. VanOrsdale Hotaling. A homemaker most of her life, Sheila had been employed at one time at the Corning Glass Works Fall Brook Plant. She spent a great deal of time caring for her mother in her advanced age. She loved her family dearly and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Her family consumed most of her free time but Sheila did enjoy playing scratch off lottery games and would enjoy an occasional beer. She also found time to root for her favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Hotaling, an infant, and Al Hotaling, her sister, Katherine Demyan and her nephew, Rick O'Dell. Surviving are her children, Mary Theresa Card (Bill Deming) of Lindley, Buffie Rose (Al Morey) of Corning, Jerry (Lori) Rose of Corning and Kimberly Rose of Corning, her grandchildren, Christopher (Amber) Card, Kevin Morey, Curtiss Morey, Allyssa Rose, Brandon Jacobus and Bianca Teeter, her great grandchildren, Christopher Card Jr. and Emily Card, her sisters, Shirley (Russell) Brown of Millerton, Pa. and Carolyn (Richard) O'Dell of Corning, along with nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Saturday, November 8 from noon to2 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. A memorial service will follow at 2 PM with Vaughn VanSkiver officiating. Burial will be made in Woodhull Cemetery. Service: Saturday, November 8, 2014 2:00 PM H.P. Smith & Son Inc.
