Obituary of John Meade

Addison, NY | John Meade Jr., 86, of Sprague Road, Addison, NY passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Corning Hospital. Born in Tuscarora, NY on December 20, 1928, John was the son of the late John and Rudy Crovert Meade. John was a long time employee of the Charles Moody Paving Co. of Caton, NY where he worked as an equipment operator. He had also been employed by Polly-O Dairy in Campbell as well as the Elkland Leather Co. in Elkland, Pa. He was married to Margaret P. Leonard who preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 1985.A private man of simple means, John was a wonderful father and grandfather. Besides his wife Margaret, John was predeceased by his sisters, Betty Jean, Mary, Alice and Helen. Surviving are his sons, John A. "Tony" (Helen) Meade of Addison and Gabriel "Gabe" Meade of Addison, his daughters, Cherokee Curley of Florida and Dawn Meade of Bath, his step children, Duane Leonard of Jacksonville, NC, Patricia Kizer of Millerton, Pa. and Rodney Leonard of Thomasville, NC. his brother, Bert Meade of Addison, his sister, Gertrude Riffle of Cameron Mills and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 1 to 3 PM. Funeral services will follow visitation at 3 PM with Rev.
