Obituary of Donna K. Yarka

CAMERON MILLS: Donna K. Yarka, 68, of Cty. Rte. 119, passed away Thursday (Feb. 5, 2015) at the Vincent House in Wayland following a courageous battle with cancer. Donna was born August 6, 1946 in Hornell to Victor C. and Marie B. (Cole) Howland. On July 3, 1965 in Adrian, she married James W. Yarka who survives and resides in Cameron Mills. A lifelong resident of the Cameron/Cameron Mills area, Donna had been employed as an assembler at the former Philips Lighting Company in Bath for 19 years from 1987-2006. Crafts and gardening were very special to Donna, especially gardening. She loved to tend to her flower beds as well as her vegetable garden and hummingbirds were always a pleasant welcome to Donna in the summer time. She thoroughly loved the little birds and always looked forward to their return. Donna was a devoted wife and mother who always had a pleasant smile and warm greeting for family and friends. In addition to her husband James Yarka, Donna is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Robert Bradley of Cameron. She is also survived by three sisters: Levonne Crosby of Canisteo, Vickie (Brian) Williams of Kent and Rose Austin of Cameron, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Tuesday at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo, where funeral and committal services will take place Wednesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Morris Gridley officiating. Burial will be in Townline Cemetery in Cameron Mills. Memorial contributions in Donna Yarka's name may be made to either the Vincent House, P.O.
