Bath, NY | Dorothy Saxton, 93, of Taylor Health Care Facility, Bath, formerly of Cameron Mills, entered into rest on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Taylor Health. Dorothy was born in the Town of Woodhull on September 19, 1921, the daughter of Floyd and Fannie Pierce Fenton. She was a 1938 graduate of Addison Central School. On June 21, 1942, she and Lynn E. Saxton were married in Addison. Lynn preceded Dorothy in death on February 27, 1999. Together, she and Lynn operated their family farm in Cameron Mills. Dorothy had also worked at Crawford's Store in Cameron Mills and served as Rathbone Town Clerk for several terms. She retired from the New York State Dept. of Motor Vehicles office in Bath following over 20 years of employment there. As a young woman, Dorothy had been a member of the Hedgesville Presbyterian Church. Upon moving to Cameron Mills, she became a very active member and Sunday School teacher at the Cameron Mills Methodist Church. She loved flowers and always worked hard to maintain beautiful floral gardens year after year. Besides her husband Lynn, Dorothy was predeceased by her sisters, Diana Woodruff and Elsie Borden and her brother, Earl Fenton. Surviving are her two sons and daughter in law, Donald and Fran Saxton of Cameron Mills and Dr. Philip Saxton of Knoxville, Pa., her granddaughter, Donna (Dan) Ferguson of Avoca, her great granddaughter, Kirsten Ferguson and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 4 to 6 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will be conducted there at 6 PM at the conclusion of visitation with Rev. David Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Hedgesville Cemetery, Town of Woodhull.
