Obituary of Lori A. Hamilton

Jasper, NY | Lori A. Hamilton, 53, of State Route 36, Jasper, passed away at home with her loving family beside her on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 following a brave battle with cancer. Lori was born in Hornell, NY on August 15, 1961, the daughter of the late Dale F. and Velma M. (Springer) Waight. She was raised in Jasper and was a graduate of Jasper Central School. On January 9, 1981, she and Phillip E. Hamilton were married in Jasper. Phil survives. Lori was a natural care giver who unselfishly gave of herself. She was a homemaker who cared for her husband and sons but also worked in the field of personal health care. She had worked as a nurse's aide at Founders Pavilion in Corning for several years. Lori also provided home health care to many area residents in need. She provided a home and care for her aunt during the last years of her life. She enjoyed country music. Lori was preceded in death by her parents, Dale & Velma Waight, her brother, Danny Waight on October 1, 2000 and her nephew, Kevin Waight in 2009. Surviving Lori is her husband Phil Hamilton of Jasper, her sons, Anthony Hamilton, Garrett Hamilton and Mitchel Hamilton, all of Jasper, her grandchildren, Collin Hamilton and Lillie Hamilton, her sisters, Sheila (Butch) Kernan of Jasper, Carole Poyer of Lockport and Julie Waight (Bob Clark) of Jasper, her brother, Marty Waight of Hornell, her mother in law, Jane Hamilton of Addison and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held privately at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home in Woodhull at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Jasper Cemetery.
