��CANISTEO: David W. Simpson, 65, of East Main St. passed away Friday (April 3, 2015) at Rochester General Hospital following an extended illness. David was born April 30, 1949 in New Rochelle, NY to Frederick B. and Evelyn C. (Secord) Simpson. On September 14, 1985 in Redding, Conn. he married Edith M. Zarges who survives and resides in Canisteo. David was predeceased by his parents and a sister Barbara Signore. David was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving our country from 1968-69. He was a security guard for Alstom Co. in Hornell. He was a member of the Kanesteo Historical Society, the Canisteo American Legion, the Belltown Volunteer Fire Company, the American Revolution reenactment Second Continental Light Dragoons and the Brigade of the American Revolution. Dave graduated from J.M. Wright Technical School in Stamford, Conn. and the University of Conn. In addition to his wife Edith M. Simpson of Canisteo, David is survived by a brother: Donald Simpson (Susan Gurevitz) of Milford, Conn. a niece: Cynthia (Eddy) Richardson of Stamford, Conn. and a brother-in-law Bob Signore also of Stamford, Conn. and great nephews Eddy Jr. and Samuel. There will be no calling hours. Friends and family of David Simpson are invited to a memorial service Friday at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church in Canisteo. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo. Memorial contributions in David's name may be made to the Wimodaughsian Free Library, 19 West Main St. Canisteo, N.Y. 14823 or to the Canisteo Fire Dept. c/o Sandy Pierce, 35 Main St. Canisteo, N.Y. 14823.
