Obituary of Phyllis M. Miles

Bailey, NC | Phyllis M. Miles, 86, of Bailey, NC, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Bailey. Born in Canton, PA on May 21, 1928, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Raymond F. and Eleanor M. McNeal Krise. She was a 1945 graduate of Addison Central School. On April 3, 1947, she married Keith K. Miles. Phyllis and Keith made their home in Elkland, PA after being married. They eventually moved to Bradford, PA and later Rochester, NY. Keith preceded her in death on August 6, 1999. Phyllis had been employed as a nurse's aide at the Village of Park Ridge in Rochester, NY. When she located to North Carolina, she attended the Bailey Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Phyllis and Gary Rathbun of Bailey, NC, her sons and daughter in law, David and Judy Miles of Mt. Pleasant, MI and Daniel Miles of Eldred, PA, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, her brothers, Philip Krise of Knoxville, PA and Jack (Crystal) Krise of Addison, her sister, Lois Rice of Eustis, FL and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Keith, Phyllis was also predeceased by her grandson Donald Miles and her brother Donald Krise. Friends may call at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY on Monday, April 13, 2015 from 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be conduced there on Tuesday at 1 PM with Rev. Charles Baldwin officiating.
