Obituary of Beverly H. Hauptman

Painted Post, NY | Beverly H. Hauptman, 76, of Meadow Lane, Painted Post, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Beverly was born in Dryden, NY on July 24, 1938 to the late Sherman B. and Gertrude M. Cady Herrington. She was a graduate of Troupsburg Central School. She attended Alfred State College where she earned an associate's degree in Applied Science and later received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a masters in General Studies, both from Elmira College. On April 15, 1967, she and Rudolph H. Hauptman were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Corning. Rudy preceded Bev in death on March 21, 2013. Bev was employed at Corning Hospital for 41 years and held the job of Comptroller for over 30 years. Prior to retirement, she accepted a part time position as Corporate Compliance Officer at the hospital. She was an active volunteer at Arnot Health and made the rice bags that were made available to patients at the Falck Cancer Center. She was a member of the Corning Quilt Guild and more recently, worked with Quilts of Valor. She also contributed to layettes available at local hospitals. Surviving are her sisters and brothers in law, Barbara and Raymond Morseman of Bath and Ina and Bud Cramer of Elmira, her brother, Donald Herrington of Bath, her dear family friend, Arnold Allen of Woodhull and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband Rudy, Bev was predeceased by her sisters and brother in law, Beatrice & Elwyn Ingersoll and Sharon Eddy. ��A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Woodhull Cemetery Chapel. Rev Brian Diffenbacher will officiate. ��Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery. The cemetery service will be followed by a gathering of friends and family at the National Soaring Museum in Elmira at 12 noon.
