Was saddened to receive an email message from a Canisteo classmate telling me of Nancy's death. She was "Miss Glancey" when I took a typing class from her way back when. Always so much fun when she would stand at the side of the room and say "Ready-y-y-y-y-y-y-TYPE! for one of the many timed tests we took. Even though I trained as an X-ray tech at St. James, I have her to thank for my first job as I also needed to know how to type for that position. I was always amazed that whenever I saw her over the years, out of her hundreds of former students, she always remembered my name. What a special lady she was. My memories of her will always be fond ones.

Nancy was a huge part of my life growing up. She was always so supportive and full of fun. So many lovely memories from my childhood in the neighborhood; lunches on the patio with Karen and Bob, kickball games, craft projects, the night the bat came swooping down through the shaft for the soon to be installed range hood in the kitchen remodeling project. Thanks for everything, Nancy. Godspeed and God Bless.

I can't remember I time in my life when I didn't know Nancy; the Roes and the Spencers have been hanging out together since the beginning of my life. Mom and I always stopped by her home for a chat when I got back in town. Sure going to miss that. Rest in peace, Nancy. We are all the better for having known you.
