Marion R. Freeman,92, passed from this world to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday (August 4, 2015) at the Steuben Center in Bath, where she had resided the past seven years. Marion was born in Buffalo, NY on November 23, 1922 to John Carlton and Elizabeth (Hayes) Rogers, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her only child and son-in-law Jeanette and David Schwendy and also by her sister, Jeanne R. Cornell. Marion was a graduate of Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing and worked as an RN until the age of 70. She married Richard C. Freeman in June 1950 and they celebrated 62 years of marriage before his passing in August 2012. Marion was a faithful servant to her Savior all her life. She volunteered as a camp nurse at Silver Lake for several summers and served at The Chapel in Buffalo for many years, serving in whatever capacity that was needed. When her battle with Alzheimer's disease became too difficult to manage Marion and Richard moved to Bath, NY in 2006 to be closer to family. Marion will be remembered for her faithfulness to her Lord and her family. Marion is survived by her grandchildren: Steve (Bethany) Schwendy of Perkasie, PA and Pam (TJ) Murphy of Providence, RI. three great grandchildren, Audra, Christian and Andrew Schwendy. Also surviving are nephews Carlton (Mary) Cornell, Bruce (Peg) Cornell, Rodney (Roie) Cornell and Hugh ( Bonnie) Cornell. Funeral services will be at the family's convenience and burial will be at Acacia Park Cemetery in Buffalo.�� Service: Private Family Viewing & Funeral H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Canisteo, N.Y.��
