Obituary of Arthur C. Dunn

Woodhull, NY | Arthur C. Dunn, 87, of Cty. Rte. 129, Woodhull, entered into rest at home on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015. Art was born in Pulteney, NY on Aug. 20, 1928, the son of the late Myrtle "Mike" and Carrie (McConnell) Dunn. In June 1946 he entered the US Army Air Corps, serving until Apr. 1949. On Sept. 16, 1950, he and the former Dorothy L. Aumick were married in Addison. She survives. Art retired from Consolidated Natural Gas Corp. after many years of employment there. He was a compressor station operator at the Woodhull Compressor Station. As a young man, Art had been employed as a farmer, worked at Arwine's Body Shop in Addison and also for the Ingersoll Rand Co. in Painted Post. He and his wife Dorothy owned and operated Dunn's Greenhouse in Woodhull for many years. Art was a member of the Tuscarora Baptist Church. Art is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Dunn at home, his daughters and sons in law, Cynthia and John Rouse of West Palm Beach, FL, Carol and Jeff Vosburgh of Painted Post, Candace Neally of Lindley and Carley Dunn of Anchorage, Alaska, his son, Timothy Dunn (Joan Stone) of Woodhull, 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, his brother, Philip Dunn of Naples, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Art was preceded in death by his son in law, Larry Neally, his great grandson, Langston Crawford, his brothers, Harold and Richard Dunn and his sisters, Bertha Hallinan, Elouise Burdick, Phyllis Brown, Jenny DeLano and Dorothy Sherman. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 at 6:00 PM at the Tuscarora Baptist Church, Cook Road in Tuscarora, with Pastor Rollin Howard officiating. The family will be present at the church an hour prior to the service to greet family and friends. Burial will be made in Woodhull Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Tuscarora Baptist Church in Art's name. ��
