Obituary of Dorothea Mae Houghtaling

HORNELL: Dorothea Mae Houghtaling, 83, of East Main St. passed away peacefully Sunday (Oct. 25, 2015) at her residence following an extended illness. Dorothea was born January 28, 1932 in Rexville the daughter of Floyd and Bessie (Barnard) Houghtaling. She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers: Glenn Houghtaling, Floyd Houghtaling, Jr., Leon Welch and Bill Welch and five sisters: Marie Flint, Jessie Thompson, Marjorie Payne, Alice Walrath and Eugertha Cady. Dorothea was a lifelong resident of the Canisteo Valley where she was a home maker who loved to do crafts. Dorothea is survived by a sister: Anna (Donald) Farrand of Woodhull and several nieces and nephews. A private viewing and graveside service will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.��
