��CANISTEO: Darla J. Norton, 62, of Square Woods Dr. passed away Friday (Nov. 6, 2015) at her home surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Darla was born December 23, 1952 in North Hornell to Raymond and Mary Jean (Roe) Clark. On December 5, 1975, in Canisteo, she married Michael E. Norton who survives and resides in Canisteo. She was predeceased by her parents, her son Michael E. Norton, Jr. and a brother Richard "Rick" Clark. Darla was a graduate of Canisteo Central School and had worked as a clerk for 20 years at the former P&C Grocery Store in Hornell. She was a member of the U.F.C.W. grocers union and a member of the Canisteo American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Darla was an avid reader and enjoyed her time outside doing yard work, mowing and caring for her home and others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who cherished the time spent with her family and friends, and also her beloved dog, Baylee. In addition to her husband, Michael Norton of Canisteo, Darla is survived by two daughters: Tina Norton of Williamsport, Pa., Tonya (Brian) Norton-Russell of Eugene, OR., and a son: Marcus (Christina) Norton of Canisteo, four wonderful grandchildren: Rhiannon Shiloh, Layla Russell, Mikayla and Macrae Norton. She is also survived by a brother: Raymond (Laura) Clark, Jr. of Rochester, two sisters: Mary Nesbit-Hoyer of South Canisteo and Sharon Clark, as well as nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm Saturday, November 14, at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo where a memorial service will take place immediately following calling hours at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Wimodaughsian Free Library, 19 West Main St. Canisteo, N.Y. 14823.��
