Ethel K. Shauf, 79, of Mutton Hill Road, Addison (Town of Woodhull), passed away on Saturday, November 28 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Ethel was born in Farmington Township, PA on Nov. 18, 1936, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel (Kenyon) Brimmer. On Sept. 26, 1953, she and Charles Shauf were married in Chambersburg, PA. Charles preceded her in death on June 17, 2015. As young adults, they settled in the Rochester, NY area where she was employed for several years by Ritter's Company in Rochester, a specialty lighting manufacturer. In 1976 she and Charles purchased a farm in Troupsburg which they operated together until full retirement. While in Troupsburg, she had worked at Electri-Cord in Westfield, PA. Ethel loved flowers and always created beautiful flower gardens in her yard. She adored animals and was a passionate poodle lover. She also was a very avid doll collector. She is survived by her children and their partners, Charles Shauf of Addison, Dianne Benton of Troupsburg, Thomas and Clarice Shauf of Addison, Brenda Space and Mark Stephens of Jasper, Scott Shauf of Addison and Michael and Carrie Bietsch of Rochester, her grandchildren, Andrew (Linda) Benton, Amie Space, Jason (Ashley) Shauf, Christina Benton, Adam Space, Ashley (Neil) Charlton, Corey Simons, Emily Beitsch, Michael Bietsch and Justin Beitsch, her great grandchildren, Cortland, William, Zachary, Logan, Bryce, Gage and Madison, her brothers, Ernest (Patricia) Brimmer of Elkland, Orville Brimmer and Richard Brimmer, both of Nelson, her sister, Ola Arnold (Bob Bovine) of Rochester and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Charles, Ethel was predeceased by her brother, William Brimmer and her sisters, Georgia Williams, Nida Phelps and Emma Simmons. Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 3 from 1 to 2 PM at the Woodhull Cemetery Chapel on the grounds of Woodhull Cemetery. Ethel's funeral service will be held there at 2 PM with Rev. Robert Goodrich officiating.
