Obituary of Arlouine L. Kent

Arlouine L. Kent, 86, of Steuben Center for Rehabilitation in Bath, formerly of Jasper, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Steuben Center. Arlouine was born in Brookfield Township, PA on Sept. 13, 1929, the daughter of Paul and Lucy Beach Simons. She was a 1947 graduate of Jasper Central School. On Nov. 8, 1947 she married Oscar W. Kent. Oscar survives. She was a homemaker and also a partner with Oscar on their dairy farm in Jasper. They were former Grange members and Arlouine was a past member and trainer for the Jasper Ambulance Assoc. A woman of God, she last attended the Adrian Baptist Church. She helped with Bible Relief Time at Jasper-Troupsburg Schools where she would escort students from the school buildings to local churches for religious education classes. She also enjoyed visiting area nursing facilities where she shared music to bring joy to the residents. She is survived by her husband Oscar of Jasper, her children, James and Valerie Kent of Jasper, Diana and Tom Baker of Xenia, Ohio and Stanley Kent of Jasper, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and her sister Bonnie of Rochester. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18 from noon to 2 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY.
