Obituary of Louise J. Lewis

Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Louise J. Lewis, 79, of Main St. Troupsburg, NY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from the Villages of Orleans Health & Rehab Center in Albion, NY with her loving family at her side. Louise was born on March 31, 1936 in the Town of Hornellsville, NY to the late Forest J. and Emily P. (Ormsby) Henry. On March 1, 1952, she married Harvey L. Lewis Jr. in Alfred Station, NY. Harvey survives. Louise was a homemaker who her family feels was put on this earth to be the greatest wife, mother and grandmother ever created. She loved her family dearly but her Lord Jesus Christ was her greatest love. She lived her life following the teachings of Him and was unashamed to share her love of Christ with others. Her favorite verse was John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life." How fitting that Louise's name was written in the book of life as a Celebration of Life date of "3:16". Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Harvey Lewis Jr. of Albion, NY, her children and their spouses, Cheryl (Ted) Mattison of Kendall, NY, Randy (Joan) Lewis of Ocala, FL, Lorette (John) Dempsey of Troupsburg, NY, Steven Lewis of Hamlin, NY, Angelee (Raul) Estela of Kendall, NY, Collette Kennedy of Tioga, PA and Harvey III (Sarah) Lewis of Kendall, NY ,23 grandchildren, 33 great grand children, her sisters, Irena Maxine Henry of Hornell, NY, Roxy (John) Robards of Bath, NY and Mildred Briggs of Hornell, NY, special sister in law, Waneta (Otis) Shoemaker of Rochester, NY, sister in law, Lois Ann Olecharski of Arkport, NY, brother in law, Harland Stephens of Zephyrhills, FL, her beloved dog Snuggles and several nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by both parents, her son Lee Lewis Sr., her granddaughter Teresa Dempsey, her sisters Edna Kull and Betty Stephens and her brothers James Richard "Bud" and Forest Duane Henry. Following her wishes, services for Louise will be held jointly when she is reunited with her husband Harvey at a later date with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Troupsburg, NY. Donations in memory of Louise may be made to your local Hospice organization.
