Obituary of Marian G. Parker

Marian G. Parker, 87, of Wilson St., Corning, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at home. Born in Brookfield Township, PA on Sept. 28, 1928, Marian was the daughter of the late George and Belle Cady Parker. Raised in Jasper, she was a 1946 graduate of Jasper Central School. Marian, as a young woman, had worked in the Canisteo Silk Mill. She eventually became employed by Corning Glass Works, working as a data processor in the Computer Data Department. She retired from Corning following a long career there. Marian was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Doris Robbins and Marjorie Robie. Surviving are her brothers and their wives, Lyle and Minnie Parker and Eldon and Julia Parker, all of Bath, NY, her sister and her husband, Sandra and Donald Burgdorf of Hohenwald, TN, her brother in law, Edward Robie of Savona and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, May 3 from noon to 2 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow there at 2 PM with Rev.
