Keith V. Mead, 77, of Tannery Creek Road, Lindley, formerly of Addison, passed away at home in Lindley on Sunday, May 15, 2016 with his loving sisters by his side. Keith was born in Addison on July 1, 1938, the son of the late John Carroll and Mildred (Newland) Mead. He was raised in Addison and attended school there. Keith worked for many years in private housekeeping, helping many area residents in the upkeep and cleaning of their homes. He had also worked at Corning Hospital, Corning Glass and various area hotels. He had attended the Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church in Addison and also was a long time volunteer with Pro Action, assisting with meal service at Addison Place Apartments. Keith was a loving brother and uncle and held many people in the Addison area dear to his heart. His favorite color was purple. Surviving are his sisters, Waneta Wood of Lindley, who he had made his home with, and Patricia Gray and partner Tom of North Ferrisburg, VT, 11 nieces and nephews and many great and great, great nieces and nephews. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred Mead and by his brother, Kenneth Mead in 2007. Friends and family may call on Friday, May 20 from noon to 2 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM with Rev. Thomas Gramley officiating. Burial will be in Elk Creek Cemetery, Borden, NY. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
