ROCK STREAM/CANISTEO: Alyce M. "Bunny" Gaskin of Ste. Rte. 14A Rock Stream formerly of Canisteo, passed away peacefully Thursday (July 7, 2016) at the Keuka Comfort Care Home in Penn Yan after a courageous battle with cancer. Alyce, affectionately known as "Bunny" was born May 21, 1941 in Elmira to Everett and Evelyn (Robinson) Stansfield. Bunny was very much full of life who loved to experience many things. She loved to paint, travel and spend time in her flower garden. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and loved nature and all it had to offer, bird watching being one of her greatest interests. Bunny is survived by a son: Mitchell Gaskin of Canisteo, three daughters: Laurie (John) Joiner of Highland City, FL., Tracy Gaskin of Canisteo and Candice (Jim) Wainwright of Elmira, five grandchildren: Josh Ward, Philip and Ronie Gaskin, Daniel Brizzee and Graham (Brittany) Meehan, a brother: Francis (Judy) Stansfield of Horseheads and a sister: Mary Ann Weaver of Avoca, several nieces and nephews. Bunny is also survived by her soul mate Warren Winner of Rock Stream and his family: Steve (Lisa) Winner and son Eric, Kristin (Deb) Winner and Amy (Brian) McConnell and sons, Benjamin and Henry. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister Patricia McKay. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Sunday at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo where a memorial service and celebration of Bunny's life will take place immediately following calling hrs. at 4:00 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Alyce "Bunny" Gaskin's name may be made to the Keuka Comfort Care Home, P.O. Box 107, Penn Yan, N.Y. 14527.
