Addison, NY | Mikeala L. Jordan, 42, of Cleveland St. Addison, NY, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 9, 2016 after a valiant battle with cancer. Mikeala was born in Corning on June 20, 1974, the daughter of Keith and Marilyn Tripp Padgett. Raised in Addison, she graduated from Addison High School. She furthered her education with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development from Corning Community College. She later earned another Associates Degree in medical transcription from Penn Foster. She was a long time employee of Corning Hospital, working as an admission clerk in the emergency department. She married Kendell Jordan on Apr. 21, 2010 in the yard of her parents' home in Addison. Mikeala was very active in volunteer emergency services, belonging to both the Addison and Tuscarora Fire Departments and Ambulance Corps., originally joining the Tuscarora Ambulance Corps in 1992. She had served as president of both the Addison Fire Department and Tuscarora Ambulance Corps.. She had served in both departments as an Emergency Medical Technician for several years. As a young lady, Mikeala was very active in Cinderella Softball in Addison. She was a member of the Addison Eagles Club Auxiliary. She loved to clip coupons and being able to stock up on home supplies which she generously shared with her family and friends. She was always ready and willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She personally put together Christmas baskets which she shared with family and people in need. Surviving is her husband Kendell Jordan of Addison, her daughters, Alyssa Austin of Addison and Alyssa Jordan of Corning, her grandson, Jakob Trudeau, her parents, Marilyn and Keith Padgett of Addison, her brother, Cyrus Padgett of Addison, her nephew, Nicholas Padgett of Wellsboro, her mother in law and father in law, Margaret and Keith Jordan of Woodhull, her sisters in law and their spouses, Karen and Wade Lucas of Doubs, MD, Kathy and Verlin Barnette of Gapland, MD and Karla and Jeff Warren of Woodhull and several other nieces and nephews and cousins. Her brother Todd Padgett preceded her in death in 2012. Following Mikeala's wishes, there will be no viewing or formal services. A time of remembrance and a Fireman's Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16. Emergency service personnel and apparatus are asked to gather at the Addison Fire Station that day at 12 noon. From there a procession will proceed to the Woodhull Fire Station where a fireman's service will be conducted. Everyone is invited to gather at the Woodhull station at 12:30 PM for the service and then stay and share a communal meal and memories of a life well lived. (Please park in fireman's field behind fire station) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mikeala's memory to the Corning Hospital Emergency Department's patient charity room.
