Christine E. VanGorden, 69, of Hornell and formerly of Woodhull, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Corning Center for Rehabilitation in Corning. Chris was born in Hornell, NY on July 9, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Margaret White and Howard Hadley. She was raised in Jasper and attended school there. She was a homemaker and adored her grandchildren. Chris cared for them often, which was a huge gift to them and a great help to her daughters. Her family was the center of her life. On May 14, 1988, she married George VanGorden. He survives. Besides her husband George of Woodhull, Chris is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Ann and Dan Fuller-Sincock of Big Flats, Melissa and Tim Ames of Woodhull and Sheila and Jim Palmiter of Jasper, her grandchildren, Courtney, Hailey, Mackenzie, Danielle, Bailey and Marissa and step granddaughter, Crystal Ames, her great grandchildren, Calissa, Holdynn and Solanna, her mother in law, Bernice VanGorden of Addison, her sister in law, Linda (John) Graves of Addison, her Aunt Marian Costley and many cousins. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, September 28 from 7 to 8:30 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY.
