Obituary of Harvey L. Lewis

Harvey L. Lewis Jr., 84 of Main St Troupsburg, NY went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday November 14, 2016 from the Villages of Orleans Health & Rehabilitation Center in Albion, NY with this loving family at his side. Harvey was born on June 2, 1932 in the Town of Troupsburg, NY to the late Harvey A. Lewis Sr. and Atha M. Lewis (Seeley). On March 1, 1952, he married Louise J. Henry in Alfred Station, NY. Harvey began his working career joining his father and mother's footsteps at Ingersoll Rand where he was a Foundry man until his retirement in 1980. At which time Harvey and Louise took up the hobby of camping which they said were the best years of his life. Enjoying bike riding with his pet Bambie in the basket of his bike and those trips to Devils Knobb and of course he had to beat mom. Harvey loved his fires at night surrounded by family and friends and oh the stories of life he would share. What a legacy as Harvey and Louise's entire life was given to their 8 children, 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Surviving are his children Cheryl (Ted) Mattison of Silver Springs, FL., Randy (Joan) Lewis of Silver Springs, FL., Lorette (John) Dempsey of Troupsburg, NY, Steven Lewis of Silver Springs, FL., Angelee (Raul) Estela of Kendall, NY, Colette Kennedy of Tioga, PA., Harvey (Sarah) Lewis of Kendall, NY and of course his beloved pet Snuggles. His Special sister Waneta (Otis) Shoemaker of Rochester, NY, Jocelyn Deats of Bradford, NY, Doris Balcer of Savona, NY, sister in laws, Irena Maxine Henry of Hornell, NY, Roxy (John) Robords of Bath, NY, Mildred Briggs of Hornell, N.Y., Lois Ann Olecharski of Arkport, NY, brother in law Harland Stephens of Zephyrhills, FL. and several nieces and nephews. Harvey was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years in March of 2016, both parents, his son Lee Lewis Sr., granddaughter Teresa Ann Dempsey, great grandson Kayden Lewis, Sister Joyce (Sam) Plank, brother James Lewis, sister in law Edna (Bill) Kull, Betty Stephens and brother in laws Levi Glayson, James Richard, Forest Duane Henry and Eugene Briggs. Following their wishes there will be no funeral services for Harvey as he only wished to be reunited for eternity with his beloved wife Louise and laid to rest at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Troupsburg, NY. Donations in memory of Harvey may be made to your local Hospice organization.
