Michael J. Leach, 49, of County Route 21, Addison, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA following a life long struggle with diabetes. Born in Hornell, NY on November 8, 1967, Mike was a son of Gary and Joyce Baker Leach. His parents survive. He was a 1986 graduate of Jasper Central School. A machinist by trade, Mike had worked at Cameron Fabricating in Horseheads and prior to that at Hardinge Inc. in Elmira Heights. He had also been associated with both Sire Power and Eastern, working as an artificial inseminator. Mike was a great outdoorsman and in particular an avid coon hunter, He was a member and past President of the Steuben County Coon Hunters Assoc. Surviving are his parents, Gary and Joyce Leach of Addison, his sister, Wanda (James) Simons of Prattsburgh, his brothers, David (Pamela) Leach of Greenwood, Douglas Leach of Addison and Roger (Angela) Leach of Woodhull. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins along with his lifelong best friend, Paul Newell of Addison. There will be no services, however, Mike's family invites family and friends to a time of visitation on Friday, November 25 from 7-9 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. They ask that those attending be prepared to share fond memories of Mike which are special to you.
