Obituary of Laura Marie Krise

Laura Marie Krise, 99, of Woodleaf, NC, formerly of Woodhull, NY, went peacefully to join her Lord in the manner that she wanted in Salisbury, NC on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Born in Corning, NY on October 2, 1917, Marie was the daughter of Walter J. and Ethel Sprague Everts. On June 13, 1941, she and Leroy Plumley were married. Roy preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1977. Marie later married Eugene Krise on June 22, 1985 and Gene passed on May 15, 1996. Marie was a lifelong member of the Woodhull United Methodist Church and also belonged to the Woodhull Community Friends senior citizens group. She lived a Godly life and was dearly loved by the entire community. She had moved to North Carolina to be near her son Gary and his wife Dee. While living there, she attended Coburn Memorial United Methodist Church in Salisbury, NC. Besides her husbands, Marie was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Smith on Aug. 21, 1997, her son, Gary Plumley on Jan. 6, 2016, her great grandson, Joseph Lubberts, her sister, Edna Butler and her brother, Arthur Everts. She is survived by her daughter in law, Dolores “Dee” Plumley of Mooresville, NC, her grandchildren, Linda Smith of Corning, NY, Deb (Jeff) Fleming of Athens, PA, Kenneth Smith of Cameron Mills, NY, William (Napat) Smith of New Bern, NC, Timothy Smith of Elkland, PA, Cynthia (Earl) Kinley of Woodleaf, NC and Andrea (James) Hendrix of Cleveland, NC, 9 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and nieces, nephews cousins and dear friends. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 27 from noon to 2 PM at the Woodhull United Methodist Church, Church St. Woodhull. Marie’s funeral service will follow there at 2 PM with Pastor Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery.
