Obituary of Blanche M. Dininny

HORNELL — Blanche M. Dininny, 98, formerly of Green Acres Trailer Court, passed away Friday (Dec. 30, 2016) at Elderwood Nursing Home in North Hornell where she had resided since 2009. Blanche was born Oct. 9, 1918, in the town of Tuscarora to Leo J. and Gertrude (Commings) DeGraw. On April 15, 1938 she married George R. Dininny, who predeceased her in August of 1993. She was also predeceased by a son, Michael “Micky” Dininny in December of 2010; a granddaughter, Kristen Dininny in August of 1993; and a sister, Julia Chace in June of 1984. Blanche had been a sales clerk at the former Elmhurst Dairy store in Hornell. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Clancy of Hornell; a son, Larry (Carol) Dininny of Kendallville, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Margie Dininny of Hornell; a sister, Thelma Dinse of Webster; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. At Blanche’s request, there will be no public calling hours or service. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Addison Rural Cemetery, Addison, N.Y. Memorial contributions in Blanche Dininny’s name may be made to Care First, 3805 Meads Creek Road, Painted Post, N.Y., 14870.
