Mark A. Hickey, 58, of Cottage Road, Addison, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at University of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia Hospital following a long illness. Born in Corning, NY on Feb. 18, 1954, Mark was the son of Eugene and Margaret Lamb Hickey. He grew up in Lindley, one of eight children. Mark became employed at Corning Inc. immediately after high school. He retired in 2009 due to poor health with over 30 years service. He worked at the Corning Diesel Ceramics plant in Erwin as a pre extrusion operator. He was a member of Local 1000 of American Flint Glass Workers Union. A great car enthusiast, Mark took great pride in owning and caring for his vehicles and took extreme pride and pleasure in his '91 Vette. He also loved to spend relaxing time fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Hickey. Surviving are his son, Gordon Hickey and fianc� Ashley Ratterree of Douglasville, GA, his daughter and son in law, Tera and Michael Smithmen of Beaver Dams, his grandchildren, Carter Smithmen, Thomas Brantley and Bryan Hickey, his mother, Margaret Wilcox of Interlachen, FL, his brothers, Lee (Jeannie) Hickey of Maryland, Bill (Evvon) Hickey of Elmira, David (Cindy) Hickey of Washington, Paul (Donna) Hickey and Kevin Hickey, both of Florida, his sisters, Judy (Gerald) Chase of Addison and Cathy (Cal) Gervin of Florida, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A private memorial service is being held at the convenience of the family. Because of Mark's love of animals, donations are requested to your local SPCA.
