Obituary of Lois E. Potter

       Lois E. Potter, 91, of the Taylor Health Care Facility, Bath, formerly of Jasper, NY, passed away at Taylor on Friday, December 15, 2017.

       Born in Jasper on June 17, 1926, Lois was the daughter of the late William Alfred and Florence (Drake) Hadley. She attended Jasper Central School.

       Lois was a homemaker but as a young woman had been employed at the Corning Glass Works and the Eclipse in Elmira. On August 19, 1964, she married Harry C. Potter. Harry preceded her in death on November 2, 2002.

      She had attended the United Church of Jasper and had been a member of the former Woodhull Rebekah Lodge.

       Surviving are her children and their spouses, Tony and Carol Morton of Erin, NY and Julie and Tom Geukes of Avoca, NY, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, her sister, Madeline Doan of Tucson, AZ, her sister in law, Genevieve Stewart of Wayne, NY and many nieces and nephews.

       Lois was predeceased by her son, Michael Morton, her granddaughter, Betty Jane Crawley, her brother, Howard Hadley and her sister, Juanita Brugger.

       Friends may call on Monday, December 18 from 2 to 4 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral and committal services will follow there at 4 pm with Rev. David Barnard officiating.

       Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo, NY.
