Obituary of Esther Conklin Oden
Esther Conklin Oden, 58, of Ashland City, TN, formerly of Addison, passed away in her sleep at home in the early morning of Friday, January 12, 2018.
Born in Corning, NY on February 11, 1959, Esther was the daughter of Robert and Janet Borden Conklin. She attended Addison Central School. On Aug. 6, 1977 she and Rick Oden were married in Holt, Michigan.
Esther was a loving homemaker. She was a wonderful wife, Mom and Grandma, making her family her primary concern in her life. She opened her home to friends of her daughters and made them feel like part of her family.
Esther was always game for a trip and would be ready to go at the drop of a hat. She and her family loved to travel and to explore all that our great nation has to offer. She loved to spend time at the Pinnacle State Park in Addison where Rick worked for 30 years as the assistant park manager. Upon Rick’s retirement in 2007, they moved to Tennessee to be near their daughter.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Rick Oden of Ashland City, her two daughters, Melissa Oden of Ashland City and Amanda Cronk of Clarksville, TN, her grandchildren, Brooke Vance, Dillon Cronk, Mariah Vance, Brenna Cronk, Kayleigh Finch, Faith Cronk and Hayden Oden, her great granddaughter, Fraya Vance, her sister, Ann Marie Hand of Lindley, her brother, Robert Conklin of Campbell and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm at the First Baptist Church of Woodhull, West Main St.. Woodhull, NY. A memorial service will follow there at 4 pm with Rev. Scott Towner officiating.
