Obituary of Wilma J. Fisk

CANISTEO: Wilma J. Fisk, 78, of Tenth St. passed away Sunday (June 24, 2012) at Highland Hospital in Rochester following a short illness. Wilma was born December 3, 1933 in Presho, NY to Sidney and Nina (Eldred) Morse. On July 9, 1953 in Presho, she married Gary A. Fisk who predeceased her in April of 2007. In addition to her parents and husband she was also predeceased by a brother, Burrell Morse and sister, Pauline Abbey. Wilma had resided in Canisteo since 1969 and was a book keeper for 20 years at Maple City Savings Bank in Hornell, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Chemung Valley Region Antique Car Club of America and was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend who cherished the time spent with family and friends. Survivors include three daughters: Kimberly Fisk of Hornell, Dawn (John) Cox of Palm Harbor, Fl. and Debra (Scott) Rollins of Canisteo. Her grandchildren: Aaron and Jacob Smith, Deidre and Jeremy Robinson, Somer and Jessica Rollins, Christine Jude, Karen and John Cox and great grandchildren: Silas Jude, Madison and Bryson Smith, Owen Wasif and Sophia Cox. Wilma is also survived by two brothers: Loren "Mike" (Theresa) Morse of Presho and Wendell (Dorothy) Morse of Painted Post, nieces and nephews, and her friend and companion Robert Tylor of Corning. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Thursday at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo where funeral and committal services will take place immediately following calling hrs. at 4 PM. Burial will be in Presho Cemetery, Presho, N.Y. Memorial contributions in Wilma Fisk's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Rd. North, Rochester, N.Y. 14609.
