Obituary of Juanita (Sanford) Barone Dietrich
ALFRED STATION: Juanita (Sanford) Barone Dietrich, 56, of Ste. Rte. 21 passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, June 10, 2018 in Hornell.
Juanita was born November 13, 1961, to the late George and Pauline (Ebner) Ritenburg, Sanford. On May 25, 2018 she married John Dietrich, Jr. at their home in Alfred Station.
Juanita was a graduate of Hornell High school class of 1979. She furthered her education at Monroe Community College earning an associate’s degree in Graphic Design. For a number of years, she worked in the corporate world eventually stepping out on her own and living her own dream of operating her own art studio. She founded “Juanita Barone Design” and recently opened Studio 21 in Alfred Station, and was very successful with her art and designs within the surrounding area.
Ever the bubbly and outgoing individual she was known to be, Juanita loved to share her experiences and her art with others. She was always willing to learn new things, engage in a good conversation with someone, thus rounding out her own life with those she met.
She loved the company of her family and friends, whether at home, camping, gardening, antiquing or just a quiet time alone. Juanita was recently privileged to be a new member of the Allegany Artisans of which she was very proud.
In addition to her husband John Dietrich of Alfred Station, Juanita is survived by a daughter Mariah Barone and fiancé Giovanni Bianchi of Rocky Point, N.C. a son Evan Barone of Ontario, step-daughters, Amanda (Ryan) Welch of Miller Place, Danee Dietrich of Arcade and Catherine Dietrich of Alfred Station. Two wonderful grandchildren, Mikey and Emily Welch. Juanita is also survived by a sister, Georgia (William) Davis of Hornell, three brothers, Tom Sanford of Ohio, John Sanford of Fremont and Troy Ritenburg of S.C. Several, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who she considered family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Judy Sanford in March of 2018.
The family will greet and receive friends from 3-6 pm Friday at the Canisteo American Legion on West Main St., with a memorial service and celebration of Juanita’s life to take place immediately following calling hrs. at 6:00 pm with a reception to follow.
