Obituary of Genevieve A. Patterson Farnham

       Genevieve A. “Genny” Patterson Farnham, 71, of Elderwood at Hornell, formerly of Woodhull and Addison, passed away there on Friday, July 27, 2018.

       Genny was born in Corning, NY on November 19, 1946 to Wilma Moss. She was raised by her foster parents, Elva and Kirby Wright on their farm in Borden. She was a graduate of Addison Central School.

      Genny worked as a cook at area restaurants including the Hitching Post in Addison and then was the cook at the Silver Top Diner in Addison for many years. She was a former member of the Addison Eagles Aerie FOE. Genny had developed a fondness for working with ceramics as a result of living with Elva who had operated a ceramic studio at her home for many years.

       Surviving Genny are her sons and daughters in law, Russell and Tina Patterson and Jason and Heather Patterson, all of Addison, her grandchildren, Kayla Patterson (Chad White), Ryan Patterson (Carissa Stowel), Elizabeth Willis (Darrell Harris), Brittney VanOrsdale and Alyssa VanOrsdale, her great grandchildren, Jaylee, Landon, Greyson and Audrey, her brothers, Benny, Asa and Gene and her sister, Gladys.

       She was preceded in death by her sisters, Wilma and Brenda, her brother, Francis and her grandson, Shawn Willis.

       Friends may call on Wednesday, August 1 from noon to 2 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Genny’s funeral service will follow there at 2 pm with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating.

       Burial will follow in Elk Creek Cemetery, Borden.
