       William D. Clark, 73, of Wells Road, Woodhull, NY, entered into eternal rest very suddenly on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.

       Bill was born in Elmira, NY on March 23, 1945, the son of the late Walter and Bernice (Sellard) Clark. Growing up, Bill’s family moved often and when it was decided to move once again during Bill’s last year of school, he left school and immediately enlisted in the US Army. He attained a GED in the military. Bill served from 1963 to 1966, earning the rank of Sergeant,

       On December 19, 1965, he and the former Sharon R. Klinkman were married at the Painted Post Presbyterian Church. After leaving the military, Bill worked briefly for the Ingersoll Rand Co. in Painted Post. By chance he came upon employment with New York State Electric and Gas. He began a 33 year career with them, starting as a lineman and retiring from the Corning station as a General Foreman of the line department.

       Upon Bill’s retirement, he and Sharon purchased a home on the Wells Road in Woodhull. In retirement Bill was involved in many activities and functions. He has been a long time trustee of the Presho Cemetery Assoc. and was responsible for placing and maintaining military flags and flag holders on the graves of veterans there. He and Sharon had also been former Grange members. Bill was a volunteer with the New York DEC where he was involved in releasing and monitoring game pheasants in the area that had been raised for hunting. He was an avid deer hunter and loved to fish. He was a league bowler and played golf with friends on a weekly basis.

       He and Sharon had become very active in the Woodhull Community Friends senior citizen group and Bill had joined the Woodhull Fire Department where he became a very loyal driver in the Ambulance Corps. Bill and Sharon were also very dedicated and involved members of the Boyd’s Corners Bible Church in Jasper. Bill had just been appointed as a church deacon there.

       Surviving Bill are his wife of over 53 years, Sharon Clark at home,  his children and their spouses, Sheila and Todd Burgess of Hornby and Steve and Darlene Clark of Hilton, his grandchildren, Amber Pierce, Allison Pierce, Jessica (Wayne) Robertson, Maverick Clark and Tia Clark, his great grandchildren, Grant and Grace Robertson, his siblings, Harvey (Bessie) Clark of Addison, Carolyn Treat of Cameron Mills, Barbara (Leslie) Taber of Albion, Loretta (Larry) Swain of Albion and Edward (Robin) Clark of Phoenix, AZ, his in laws, Deanna Clark, Linda (Ken) Kalbach, Ann (Chris) Blackwell, Jane Klinkman, Nancy (Mike) Greene and Jeanette (Barry) Astrow, his fury pals, Kalli and Lucky and many nieces and nephews.

       Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Casson, his brother, John Clark and brother in law, Ronald Treat.

       A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 1 at 6:30 pm at the Boyd’s Corners Bible Church. Cty. Rte. 21, Jasper, NY with Rev. Terry Moore officiating.

       Bill’s remains will be placed in Presho Cemetery in Presho, NY.

       Memorials may be made to the Boyd's Corners Bible Church.
