CAMERON: David L. Pickett, 58, of Cty. Rte. 119 passed away of natural causes Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at his home.

 

David was born August 3, 1959 in Hornell to Carl and Mary (Loucks) Pickett.

 

David was a life-long resident of Cameron and was formerly employed as a welder refurbishing subway trains at Bombardier and TTA in Kanona and the former Morrison and Knudsen Co. in Hornell. David’s interests included fishing, particularly the Canisteo River, ”tinkering” and fixing things and when necessary would invent and build whatever was needed to get the job done. He had a great love for animals and would take care of any strays that came his way.

 

David is survived by his mother Mary Pickett of Cameron, three sisters, Brenda Cromwell, Lisa (Glen) Crane and Laurie (David) Quick all of Cameron, two brothers, Bruce Pickett of Cameron and Roland (Marilyn) Pickett of Hornell, as well as nieces and nephews.

 

He was predeceased by his father Carl A. Pickett in February of 2015, a brother Edward C. Pickett in June of 1998 and a niece Kimberly Davis in November of 2014.

 

There will be no prior calling hours, family and friends are invited to a memorial service Monday, August 6 at 6:00 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo.

 

Memorial contributions in David’s name may be made to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd. Hornell, N.Y. 14843.
